Critter Control Solves "Bats in the Belfrey" Problem

The presence of bat guano in an attic can cause a serious health risk. When dried bat guano is disturbed it creates microscopic spores that, if inhaled by humans, can cause a serious respiratory disease called Histoplasmosis. It can be dangerous for people to remove bat guano on their own without the proper protective equipment. When done properly, it can be removed without exposing anyone to contaminants.

Cleaned Attic after Animal Problem

This photo is an example of an attic cleaned by a Critter Control team. Not only do they clean guano safely and effectively, but also disinfect the attic and help take preventative action by seeking areas they may be entering and covering the entrances.

Once the animals have been removed, Critter Control will replace the contaminated insulation with TAP insulation – cellulose insulation with boric acid in it to control insects. This is a quality insulation that is made of recycled material, kills insects and has an R-Value of 3.7 – which is better than most other types of insulation. It is also flame-retardant and Energy Star rated.

Again, removal of bat guano can be extremely harmful to you and your family. The best thing to do is call a professional who will see the process through and take extra steps to ensure continued safety for your home and family.
